A circle-sister told me t'other day that this is the month of Yes, You May. Somehow that has freed me to restart some of my personal daily practices that had drifted away during sailing season, so this morning I returned to two: Sitting Meditation (14 minutes on my first day in weeks), and journaling.

Started working again on the next set of teaching commitments. Yesterday a long and rich talk with my teaching partner for our work in August, today a delightful lunch with fresh lettuce from the garden, beginning the process of collaboration with a new-to-me co-teacher for maybe sometime in the fall. Continuing the reading for two workshops I'll lead in June.

Back to Hospice work, too. This week I've been assigned to two Eleventh-Hour patients -- people whose remaining time on-planet can be measured in days. One of these was fully conscious but not wasting much energy talking with us (and no reason to do so, either). Someone suggested I might want to read to her from my own spiritual work, and I found myself reading on Self-Forgiveness. Seems like the work I most need to do now, too.

Books on my recommended list just now:

_Fear Less_, by Forrest Church, available from Skinner Books
_The Gift of Fear_, by Gavin de Becker

... both on using our fear effectively in our lives, to empower us to take care of what's urgent, when it's urgent, and relax about life the rest of the time.

Personal daily practices I'll be re-engaging this week:

Sitting meditation (as mentioned above -- I aim for 20 minutes each morning).
Morning Pages (free-form writing -- 3 pages or 30 minutes)
Journaling -- especially a gratitude journal and a journal of patterns of my own behavior
Body pampering -- a hot bath or luxurious shower, followed by skin cream

Music: especially meditative music from Wyndham Hill.

Love and light and lots of laughter
