2500 people in a fancy business hotel wearing every possible color combination, every kind of hairdo I've ever seen and some I hadn't, walking sticks and fairy wings and robes, oh my.
Hotel staff looking utterly comfortable with the whole thing (of course, this IS California).
Some wonderful conversations with folks I'd only known from on-line classes or listservs. A couple of rare and deep connections with folks I've revered from afar for a long time. A chance to see some people whose health challenges have been much in the community's news of late, and see for myself that they're doing well and obviously planning to stay on-planet awhile longer.
Workshops and lectures and panel discussions with some wonderful practitioners. The gift of a chance to do shamanic weatherwork with 150 other people in an atmosphere of good boundaries and appropriate respect for the biosphere. The delight of learning more about interfaith efforts and contacts throughout the world. An invitation to Australia that I'm really going to have to think seriously about.
Amazing.
Now I'm tired, but happy. Yesterday's irritation was gone almost as soon as I'd finished typing. Tomorrow, airports and connections and getting to see a dear friend. But for now: sleep.
