Yuletide celebrations
Thursday, December 22nd, 2005 10:12 pmLast night sat in circle with a few new friends, drumming and singing to honor the blessed dark, the healing dark, the redeeming, restful, growth-ful dark. Drumming and singing to honor the returning Sun.
Lit my hair on fire, too -- stepped back too hastily to let someone pass in a narrow hallway, next thing you know everyone's yelling "You're on fire! Drop and roll!" By the time I realized they meant _me_, I could hear the sizzling. Kneeling, I wrapped my hand around the hair (closer to the scalp than the fire) and squeezed it tight, depriving the flame of air. By the time I slid my hand down to where the fire was, it was only warm.
But what a way to make an entrance! I don't recommend it. And this morning I kept finding tangled rough spots, some pretty close to the scalp.
What I meant to tell you ... on a day when the local weatherfolks had been predicting rain, I awoke to a brilliant sun in a clear blue brilliant sky. Welcome back, Sol!
Love and light and lots of laughter
