Out to Sea!
Thursday, February 21st, 2008 09:59 amPacking up this morning to actually be departing. Boot Key Harbor has been home so long I'm not sure what to expect from leaving ... but leaving we are.
Yesterday ... took down the broken wind instrument and ship it back to its maker for the second time this week. Later I went up the mast and installed a simpler non-electronic weathervane to help us see wind direction. The view from 57 feet above the water was spectacular! ... and the camera I had in my hand was batteryless (sigh). Gotta go up some other time for that shot. But it won't be today, methinks.
Last night ... made the backups of essential data from the computer.
This morning ... moving ourselves out of the storage locker, erasing our boatname from the departures board, turning in the shower tokens, mounting the dinghy engine on the stern rail ...
Expecting to leave shortly after noon ...
and
... we'll be off-line for a week or 10 days minimum. Expecting to get back on-line when we arrive at Fronteras, a day upriver from our entrance to Guatemala.
Many Blessings, Love and Light to all!
( ...sailing, sailing, over the bounding main ... )
( ... sailing takes me away ....)
( ... and my life, my love and my lady is the sea ...)
