And one day later

Reminded again, I am: Speaking what's true relieves the pressure of trying to pretend it isn't.

Yesterday I wrote about my frustrations and overwhelms, and about the progress I'd made. Even though, when I started out, I was feeling frustrated and inadequate, I found myself writing about some things that had gone well, some things I had done 'right.'

I also wrote, honestly (though briefly), about a major stuck place - the project that requires the photographs. What I didn't tell you was:

* I started the project on Aug 31. It could just as well have waited until this move was complete, but I found the materials, I decided what needed to be done, I knew there would be 'steps' to take. Somehow I thought 'now' was the right time.

* I asked for professional help, and agreed to take photos to expedite that help.

* I took a dozen pics, out of the hundreds that need taking, and found the process daunting. Tech issues, lighting issues, e-mailing photos turns out to be maddening in large numbers.

* I choked. Instead of renegotiating, I just kept putting it off.

* The professional began phoning me. I didn't answer.

That's where I was yesterday when I posted my update.

Here's the good news: within hours of writing the update, I found it possible to reply to the professional, acknowledge my intransigence and apologize, offer what changes I could be confident of making, and ask what would be possible.

And of course, said professional replied promptly, gently, appropriately. The project is now on (a new) track. Hurray!

(I knew there was a reason I opted into this group, even in mid-moving.)

Thank you all for listening. Thanks for being 'there' (wherever 'there' is) when I needed to talk about it. Thanks for reminding me that unprocessed feelings just stagnate.

I think I'll go lay out a Yoga mat.
