Moved, temporarily, and half unpacked

In honor of the Ides of March, I thought I would write an update. But the Ides was yesterday. That has been the story of the past 3 weeks -- remembering something I wanted to do, just in time to realize I missed it a day or two ago.
The good news is that I know where my hearing aids are (did you folks even know I had them? Got them in December). I know where my go-to-work clothes are. I can find my computer, my car keys, and (after a day's hard search) my active calendar.
I continue to deal with unpacking the last-minute stuff that came along with me, whether it should have gone into storage or not, whether I even meant to keep it or not. This week I managed to get my friend's living room back to normal (except for the small pile of boxes in the corner, and the two boxes heading for the thrift store tomorrow). The kitchen is mostly back to normal and my bedroom is mostly functional. The dining room, however, is still inundated with my stuff. The piles are more orderly and most of the boxes have been unpacked, but there are still three boxes of active files on the floor and assorted little piles of stuff being sorted all over the dining table.
(whew)
Dear Husband is back on the boat, continuing with the projects of rebuilding the head (that's toilet, for you landlubbers) and replacing the refrigerator. We're still planning some summer travel.
This week I need to finalize my application for the next round of chaplaincy training in the fall, and then send it to the three or four most likely places.
Life continues to be rich and strange. I am so grateful for the steadfast love and support of good friends.

Date: Tuesday, March 19th, 2013 04:04 pm (UTC)I'm so glad to see you commenting here, where I can say how much I've appreciated your last couple of posts. Somehow there's a glitch that doesn't let me comment on your blog, even though I'd like to.
Wishing you gentle breezes and a warm spring.
